Hello Rob, fellow English woman here. I'm still relatively new to the site too, as I haven't been very active since joining. Still, it seems to be a great, welcoming community here. I hope you find it a much calmer atmosphere than Facebook!

A warm welcome to the forum, Rob! I'm also British, although I have lived in France for many years.
You will finds lots to interest you on this forum. As for Facebook....I deleted my personal account years ago, as the whole thing seemed so shallow. The only one who still has a Facebook page is my dog! He keeps in touch with the refuge which took him in, before he joined us. (The member photo you see is not my current much-loved dog, but my beloved and special Puce, who passed to the astral some years ago).
