10 of cups as advice

I was advised to pull a card regarding how I could have a reconciliation between my ex and I happen.

10 of cups: be positive and at peace with myself. Work on myself, be selfless and balanced.

Thoughts?

the prescription you've written out seems wonderful.
be positive and at peace with yourself... selfless and balanced.
part of the equation is requiring you to release expectations on outcome.
you'll want to (paradoxically) relinquish your initial desire.
(retaining that energy would block the new results from manifesting).
to be at peace with yourself, whole and balanced (as is) would be
an excellent result, irregardless of anything else.

Horace, so focus on myself and let go, and that might help him see me differently and to help along a possible reconciliation.

Once you focus on yourself and surrender the outcome, the world is your oyster. You should take this time to heal and rebuild, then decide for yourself if you even want him back. Once you're healed, you may choose somebody else. The advice is telling you to spend time with friends and families. All those cups represent the love already present in your life. Surround yourself in love.

I often think with the 10 of cups, that its about counting your blessings, and focusing on the good in a situation. Appreciating what you and your partner have can slowly build a more positive relationship. What a beautiful card to pull. x

I have gotten that pull many times and it had nothing to do with the lover. So many times we want, desire, suffer over our own wants. It always comes back to self

From the very core, ten of cups IS spiritual and emotional fulfillment, it has nothing to do with the having or material possessions of people

I would interpret the 10 of cups as advice as advising you to make the most of the currently positive flow of energy in your life: to work towards peace, commitment, love, harmony; work out differences with people to improve the quality of your relationships, etc.
