Kundalini Rising VS Astral Projection

I have had experience in both venues. While from birth I have been able to Astral Travel with but a thought and out I go my Kundalini experience was one that I did not initiate. It was a spontaneous awakening and the ride of a lifetime in unfolding.

Here are my thoughts on the two and how they at times might well flow together.

I am far from an expert on meditation and I can only practice in meditations if it is in a well controlled group setting with the understanding I need to be monitored and at times brought out. As a Medium that alone time and down time most find is an open door for spirits to find me and chat.

As Kundalini is activated and ascends through bodily energy channels it passes through all chakras starting from the rood chakra (Mooladhara).

While the Kundalini and the Astral Projection are separate, they share in many similar paths. They both work to stimulate the higher consciousness and make the attempt to connect to what we at times term the paranormal realms of our being. This is about merging and expanding the energies that are hidden within our physical being.

We can have many reasons to seek that place of the Out of Body Experience or to have our Kundalini rise within our physical body. It is important to remember that both are experiences on the spiritual levels that do alter the physical perceptions of our reality. So caution is key to any successes and patience is a must.

Kundalini in simple terms is sacred energy that resides within the deepest parts of our sub being or subconsciousness. This energy is connected to the Root Chakra that is located at the base of our spine. This Chakra is awakened via meditation or Kundalini Yoga and from there it climbs the spine much like snake on a vie would travel.

This process will open the door to at times a very intense release of energy, which are very much felt on the physical levels. We do not know how we are going to react until we are in the experience so taking it slow and in steps is key.

Like with Astral Travel it is possible to become blocked or even lost in the release of energy. It is important to “Set Goals” to what you wish to have as the outcome. To take it slow with patients and in steps forwards. At times there can be a sudden and spontaneous Kundalini Awakening or Astral Travel where your outside and along for the ride, but this is rare. It is not the most enjoyable of experiences and often while in the midst of it you might not understand it all. Yet somewhere in your past it flows in knowledge into this life.

Have patients with the experience and know that at times meditation is not for everyone. Take that aspect slow to know how your body will react and if possible, find a group to meditate with until your comfortable with the whole experience. This way there is someone to pull you back into being you.

Thanks for sharing your perspective and experiences,

The two phenomena are indeed connected, but it remains a mystery, in what way exactly.

My own theory is that some sort of Kundalini activation precedes most psychic phenomena, even if it is subtle and not perceived by the person in question.

The Chakras are gateways to other dimensions of reality, it matters which one is activated when psychic phenomena occur.

I have been able to astrally travel a few times, but it was generally unplanned and occurred in very deep meditation. In my case it was generally preceded by full Kundalini activation, all the way to the crown.

One time I was taken out of my body and into the underworld, against my will. It was a very disorienting experience and I imagine very much like what death is like, if it doesn't go well.

I also had an OBE/NDE due to an accident, where I hit the top back part of my head and lost consciousness for several minutes. I was just floating around blissfully in the bathroom where it happened, still able to observe my surroundings, but unable to move around much. I could still hear my flatmate calling my name and banging on the door and could see my own body lying on the floor. Returning to my body was like flushing water down the drain. I felt constrained and trapped afterwards.
