The old testament is an eye for an eye. Jesus said to forgive, to not judge and to love others as yourself.
This is much different than what you will find in the old testament.
3. Jesus said, "If your leaders say to you, 'Look, the (Father's) kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the (Father's) kingdom is within you and it is outside you. When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty, and you are the poverty.
Non-dual.. right in line with all non-dual traditions...

Happiness is the result of an enlightened mind whereas suffering is caused by a distorted mind.

A previous point I was talking about was amulets.
The monks I know have amulets. Why are they not removed? I even have given them some!
There is not much difference between an amulet and a statue. Amulets and statues seem to be part of main stream Buddhism.

‘They do not get carried away by superstition; they believe in deeds, aspiring to results from their own deeds through their own effort in a rational way; they are not excited by wildly rumoured superstition, talismans, omens or lucky charms; they do not aspire to results from praying for miracles.’ — Anguttara Nikaya III, 206

For some he did, for many others he didn't.
Jesus also broke Laws did he not? Working on the Sabbath is just one example.
