Sounds good, you can also just find on youtube good channels that are showing exercises.

You should check out a beginners 5x5 routine. Really straightforward and really effective. Just do a Google search for it.

one of the personal trainers at my gym, who is a competitive bodybuilder, came up to me the other day and told me my squats were looking really good. that was awesome to hear :) I've been slowly getting them a little bit deeper. one of these days I'll increase the weight again.

1 sesh probably isn't going to give much anyway, but if you look at you tube videos on whatever exercise you want, or on workouts in general, you can pick up a lot.
