is it wise to act as per signs?

I have experienced that signs often present themselves when we are searching for them continuously with all our attention. As I believe that we all have certain defined agenda in asking for these signs so I just want to hear about the opinion of others on this.
Firstly how should we make sure that it is a sign and not a mere coincidence?
Secondly if we take it to be a sign then how wise is to act as per it?

i believe that it's wise to act in accord with one's heart.
even if a course of action should prove foolish or unfruitful,
there ought to be peace knowing that i've been true to my
own hearts inspirations. if i were to place faith outside of
myself, and follow external cues, and then those things
were to have led me astray, where would the fault lie?
i reckon the fault would lie within myself for having sought
to follow someone else's agenda.
the promise of ascension, a process underway for all native
beings here presently, is that our will will become enacted....
i'd suggest that signs have a place, if and only if your heart
confirms their validity for you. if you experience a "sign", and
your heart jumps, flickers, warms, or otherwise signals to you,
then it's something to take heed of (imo).

I agree with what you've said, as our hearts with hold a lot of emotional intelligence and understanding. So listening to it is very important.
