Evolution of altruism

It seems like in the long run the universe has some sort of altruism built into it. I think the species that do not simply do not survive because they end up wiping themselves out. You can look at research on the domestication of wolves from dogs and find that traits of domestication correlate with face shape and other physical characteristics and the same process has been going on in humans.

In other words, as time goes on we become more civilized, kind, caring, and less violent, cruel, etc. I am speaking in geological time here and the time over which evolution acts here. However, I believe the same patterns will arise through the evolution of technology. Basically one person wants to be the dominate one and "rule them all" so many others cooperate to take down those not acting in the common interest. Of course the evil still fight amongst themselves so in the long run as this acts on populations they get basically removed from the gene pool. I think and hope that over time we will begin to find ways to engineer ourselves, society, architecture, education, etc to basically remove sociopaths, war mongers, malcontents, etc from the gene pool. I can only imagine what kind of society we could create if we could have good people united in common purpose to effect the world positively. I know this may sound scary to some and I don't mean it to be, I think it will just be a phase in the long run so that eventually we can practice ever more peaceful ways of being that use less resources and focus more on improving ourselves and our inner worlds than on defending ourselves from rapists, murderers, corporate swindlers, drug dealers, child molesters, scientists like mengele, etc

I hate to say it but because of overpopulation the world more likely to get worse than better. Poverty leads to crime in our societies. Also, there are usually around a dozen genocides going on in the world at a time. It's sad but this is what humanity has become after the recent industrial revolution and explosion of science. The more we can do, the more damage we do. Power corrupts.
