I would read Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda about how his Master Sri Yukteswar expereinced the whole after-life and told him in amazing beautiful and awe dropping, death defying detail of the many realms.
I do not like Yogananda himself, but his Master was a gem in spirituality.
And I would read Edgar Cayce's near death experience. Saved by the Light and Embraced by the Light are good books. They are go hand and hand with all these experiences as Universal.,
