Kubo and the two strings

Looks like a great animation, opens today, any goers for this?

Quote:
The Ancient Japan, an eyepatch-wearing young boy named Kubo cares for his sick mother in a village. A spirit from the past turns Kubo's life upside down by re-igniting an age-old vendetta. This causes all sorts of havoc as gods and monsters chase Kubo. In order to survive, Kubo must locate a magical suit of armor once sought by his late father, a legendary Samurai warrior. He also gains some allies in Monkey and Beetle.

It was a fantastic and beautiful film, 5 stars!

A little on the darker side for an animation, but it's all good, very spiritual.

Yay! The darker side makes sense because it's made by the same people who made Coraline (so good!). Thanks so much for confirming that it is indeed awesome. I can't wait to see it now.

I am going to watch it again tonight. This time in regular Imax

Coraline was my daughter's favorite movie as a toddler, yes, that right! She was a strange and creepy little girl lol but very much like me in that regard, attuned to the 'unkown'. I still like Coraline's story line better, but Kubo's animations and graphics are so freakin mesmerizing and enchanting

Main message of the movie: Love conquers all.
