i personally take an integral/holistic view of my condition/experiences - bio/psycho/social/spiritual - that things are mediated across spirit - soul/psyche - physical body/brain - social/environmental. i don't see any either/or with it all, but rather that everything is interrelated & interdependent.
imo Carl Jung spoke a lot of sense on all these matters, as have others.
Current mainstream psychiatry primarily focuses on the physical - the physical body/brain. Psychological & social elements often seem secondary to that, & the areas of the soul & spirit are usually excluded.
Obviously it is impossible to argue a case for the spiritual with a materialist, as many now appear to be. Many people also seem fixed on the idea that 'functional' (no known/identifiable biological aetiology [cause]) mental health disorders are brain conditions - i don't think they primarily are - Not to exclude the physiological (biologic) aspects of them - although imo primarily in the vast majority of cases i think the primary aetiology is psychogenic (cause in the mind/psyche).
i've spent the past 10 years on-line trying to raise awareness of & explore the spiritual in mental health, to little avail. Am interested in other people thoughts on the matter. Thanks.

i think that most people are aware of there being unseen levels of
dimensionality in which reality exists. our eyes can't see the mind,
but we're aware that such a thing exists and that it has an impact
on our experiences in life. i've heard it said, through channelers
tapping into 'spiritual awareness', that ALL illnesses originate in the
"emotional field" of a being... and i tend towards believing this as fact.

E=mc2 famously expresses an equivalence between mass & energy within the
physical world -- they are measures of the same thing, merely expressed in
a different form. my sense of things is that all of everything is an expression
of Source energy, merely appearing in different forms. the "scientific method"
likes to eliminate the emotional component of reality when formulating its
equations and designing its experimental parameters (partly because it has
no known way to quantify such things).
yet, emotions are like other energies which flow and carry information.
segregating the emotions and seeking to understand the whole apart from
them is a mistake in my estimation. as a being, i have an interest in how
the system functions, and i'll not get the full picture by divorcing myself
from my own desires.

I lately gave up antypsichotics because I realised they were causing me restlessness. I couldn't focus on my chanting which is more important to me. And I'm happier .

Schizophrenia is interpersonal ?
https://www.humaneclinic.com.au/sing...interpersonal-
"The debate about the origin of schizophrenia being genetic, social, biological, drug induced etc rumbles on and on. But what of the spaces where the person with so called schizophrenia, voices, hallucinations, paranoia etc. inter-relates in a safe, constructive and validating relationship and the prominence, distress and threat no longer take priority?
Is the person in an altered state presenting a narrative of fear and response to fear, that he or she experiences in unsafe relationships and the world around them? What might happen when the person who is sitting facing them, who has labelled and described their legitimate functional adaption to cumulative interpersonal trauma as an ‘illness’, ceases to label and instead offers their own self in relationship with the person in a so called psychotic state?
Recently I have been noticing a lot less ‘psychosis’ in the consulting room. Perhaps more important, noticing less and less interest by the person that may have been labelled or self-labelled as psychotic, in talking about or even experiencing the ‘psychosis’. This may potentially be a good thing, but If psychosis itself is not the priority to the ‘psychotic person’, then what might be the difficulty? Could it be that the psychosis, altered state was simple an expression of unsafe relationship and when that relationship becomes safe the ‘messenger’ or altered state does not need to speak so loud to maintain safety?"
Letting the suffering of others touch us
https://www.humaneclinic.com.au/sing...thers-touch-us
"Healing occurs as 'that which has been rejected' comes into contact with love/acceptance/human presence, that does not turn away.
The fact that another persons' suffering impacts me is part of the healing process for the other. We would never want to get to a place where we are not affected by that, but that we do need to offer ourselves the same supports we offer the other person.
Its important to find layers of support. Layers of relational spaces to share and be heard and accepted and loved. To find a space for this pain and existential suffering to live so it doesn’t destroy you."
