Personal Astrology summaries =)

hello everyone

I came across this post I wrote on facebook and wanted to share it here. Then I was thinking it would be fun if everyone added their own personal perceptions about the planets and signs, or whatever you feel like dissecting or shedding light on

Here are my Planetary Meanings~

Sun~ The Sun sign is like your soul. it's your integral being, your sunshine literally, the center. it's a big part of you, though some say the Moon and Ascendant make up equal parts of you along with it, but depending on the whole chart really any planet could be a focal point. The Sun is obvious in many ways, but sometimes it takes life lessons and growing for us to develop the strength of our Sun and really shine.

Moon~ The Moon sign is the subconscious, it's what determines your emotional nature a lot and a certain part of your perception and mind. It deals with dreams, memories, the mother, the past. It's your innermost nature and stuff that is often not even conscious to you, but of course can become. It's the depths of your soul and your mind.

Mercury~ The Mercury sign is your other mind planet. The more intellectual cognitive part of your mind. It's the messenger planet, how you communicate, talk, convey your thoughts and think in general. It's the methodology governing the way your brain ticks and what things might monopolize your noggin.

Venus~ The Venus sign is another emotional and sentient part of you. It's how you relate to people and feel about them, as well as how you feel and relate to pretty much everything. It governs the way you react to ideas, objects, intangible and tangible things alike. It's innate passion and manifestation.

Mars~ The Mars sign is the more physical and active part of you. It's the last of the personal planets, so has a more profound and individual effect on you than the following outer planets. Generally the farther the planets are the less of an impact they have, the slower they are the more people who have the same sign being born in the same proximity. Mars covers how you are physically, how you move, what things like sports you may like, it has a lot to do with your sexual nature, your extension into the physical plane, and your action. It's also passion and fieriness.

Jupiter~ The Jupiter sign is the first of the outer planets and slower moving therefore it spends about a year in each sign, so everyone born within a year of you will have the same Jupiter sign. It still has an individual effect, but not usually as strongly as the previous planets and Moon. Jupiter is the planet of luck and fortune but also could symbolize gluttony. It's manifestation, growth and prosperity, and deals with spirituality and higher learning.

Saturn~ The Saturn sign is the strictest, most serious planet, although it also has its own form of dry humor and wit. Like a diligent and conscientious disciplinarian it can also be a great blessing, but generally it deals with responsibility and learning lessons. Saturn can be constricting, but it can also be the inspiration we need to progress and overcome obstacles in addition to representing the obstacles themselves. It can be likened to the father who shapes you into a prosperous successful person responsible for yourself and life.

Uranus~ The Uranus sign is the one of oddity. It spends a long time in each placement, so it has a generational effect and everyone born within about 7 years has the same Uranus, but the individual house it lands in your chart, and angular relations it makes with your other planets has more of a personal impact. Uranus is about both the individuals and humanitarianism. It's heavily involved with the scientific and uniqueness. It's autonomy but also togetherness and equality. Uranus can be surprising and unexpected, with definite shock value but helps us to be more accepting and openminded.

Neptune~ The Neptune sign is the most esoteric. It deals with spirituality and illusion, escaping, enlightenment, magical things. It can be boundless and a little intimidating but also can be the most comforting, like Divine Love. Neptune in the chart is generational but personally it will show where we may have deeper interests and insight and places that can possibly be our downfall or subsequently salvation.

Pluto~ The Pluto sign is a pretty badass one. Again it spends a long time in each sign, sometimes up to 30 years, so it definitely has a generational bestowal, but the houses and interactions otherwise will be more individually you. Pluto is a chaotic planet that simply does not give a ****. It is useful for breaking down barriers and getting down to the nitty gritty. It represents secrets, upheaval, transformation, like the phoenix rising out of the ashes. It can signify deceit, and darkness, but the main goal is to dig deep and overcome or overturn anything untrue and unevolved.

Ascendant~ The Ascendant sign is not a planet, but a certain important spot on the chart. It's also called the Rising sign and is the point at the left where the wheel and houses begin. The Ascendant sign is said to be more superficial, like a veil or mask between you and the world, but it can also be thought of like a bag of tricks, skills and essence that you have easier access to, to be used to your advantage in dealing with the world and people. It can also color your personality largely and how you appear to others. It changes every two hours or less, so you need your exact time of birth to find out what your Ascendant is, but it's an important aspect.

Midheaven~ The Midheaven sign is also not a planet but a point on the chart, 90 degrees away from the Ascendant, at the top of the chart. It is like your public persona and the professional part of you, or at least what you could or would be inclined to aspire to be. It may be most obvious in social situations and indicate what vocations you are best suited for or drawn to.

There are more placements in the chart, but these are the main ones in this type of Astrology. A few more of note would be Chiron, Lilith, and the North Node and South Node. Additional asteroids and astronomical entities or points on the chart can be important too, but I would be here forever to cover them all, and the basics are a good place to start, you could get lost on your Moon sign alone for days if you really delved into it.

Chiron~ The Chiron sign is the "wounded healer" and points to a place where we may need extra healing and introspection to overcome certain issues or impediments in our life. It's bittersweet in a way, but what we learn through Chiron about ourselves, and act on, can help us greatly to assist others.

Lilith~ The Lilith sign is a bit more negative in connotation, but as with any placement can also be manifested positively and a great learning point. The Lilith sign can be a place of immaturity and selfishness, impulsiveness and a need for refinement and facing proverbial demons.

North Node and South Node~ The Node signs are also important points on the chart. They are opposite each other. The North Node is generally a place that symbolizes where you may need to grow too, and can help you highlight the tools that can contribute to your progress. The South Node, while I don't understand it greatly, seems to be some gifts that you were already born with and are more familiar with. It's logical since the opposite signs in the Zodiac do share a common thread with each other. On the other hand, the South Node powers could also be unconscious up to a point, and the North Node may be something that we don't fully grow into until later years of our life. But if we are conscious, as with Astrology in general, we can work with the energies inherent and the awareness we gain could make short order of what might take others unequipped a lifetime to conquer.
