Second that red & white normally symbolise romance. There are other meanings for red but not normally with white. Has she ever used coloured candles before?
Ultimately just lighting candles won't really do anything, she needs to focus on her intent &outcomes. Candle magic is a way of using candles to focus the intent.
Buy her two red roses and one white & offer her those to put next to her candles? (It won't help or harm any spell she's trying to do but may amuse you to see her reaction ?)
If your relationship needs work, no amount of one sided magic is going to help without effort from both of you. I really hope you can work together to make things better for yourselves. Your home should be a haven of light and laughter where you can feel at ease with one another.
