Talk to me about soul splits...

First of all, is that kind of scenario common at all? By which I mean a person has some parts of their psyche, be it from severe emotional trauma or such, get either walled off inside them, or perhaps even flees their self-contracting consciousness?

Any more info about this type of thing would be appreciated.

I think there are two things that could happen: Firstly, a trauma in this life might cause a person to shut down one or more of their chakras, which would be like losing a part of their soul. Secondly a person could, as a result of trauma, step into their secondary characteristics and so lose their true nature for a while. If they connect to, and honour, their true nature, this should be reversible.

People mean a lot of different things by the term "soul split". If we're talking about a "walk-in", I refer back to Ruth Montgomery's book, "Strangers Among Us". In this case, the decision to allow another soul to enter the body is by consent. The original occupant of the body is tired, been traumatized, etc. An advanced soul wants to come into the earth plane, but skip the growing pains of childhood. There's a period of time when the decision is reversible. Eventually, the original soul moves on to the other side, and the new soul remains in the body. There is no penalty for either soul.

The other "split soul" that I know about involves a soul splitting into male and female halves, creating the "twin flame". If I misread your question, John, please excuse me. (Also if I explained the concept badly!)
