Attempt at Clarity amidst a morass of questions and answers

[Or Responses to Chesterking -- Wasn't sure which thread to respond to as some are similar, and ches seems to answer his own question in some of his threads so... general thoughts in response....]

Meditation is a wonderful device that, when appreciated for what it is, points most directly to What Is. If one uses a technique to "get into" meditation, it is not yet meditation; it still uses the power of mind and imagination. To think about breathing, for instance, may help at the beginning, but meditation happens when one appreciates Nothing Ever Happens. It does not need imagination or the power of mind (which is what would be telling someone it's "dangerous.") In fact meditation is completely safe - the most safe. In silence there is a knowing, pointing most directly to What Is - pointing home.

What else is there but What Is? And Is it not a miracle? This nature? This Now? What more do you want? If you want the esoteric, it is because you can not yet value What Is, the only value. This overlooks the miracle that life itself is. Until you can value what is in the end the most ordinary, always has been and always will be, you will look for kundalini (a thought) or ponder how you'll feel about meditation when you're enlightened or want to feel good or bad or calm and you will be side-tracked into this or that.

This is fine. If you want to explore this and that, in the so-called wrong direction, go for it. The path should be long and hard in a way, so that you can value what in the end is the most easy, only overlooked.
