Asked for higher self... got 3 year old me

I decided to do a meditation with the intention making contact with my higher self- no reason really, just figured why not try, I was reading about crystals at the time. So I grab some crystals set my intention and get in the zone- then all the sudden I see little me running round the corner into the room, bursting with love and joy and I felt SO much love both for her and from her. Then it changed and I saw her in my position in one of my not so cherished memories, I was flooded with all these emotions and she looked at me and told me it wasn't my fault. She was unfazed and still beaming with love. I actually cried and I wasn't too sure why! I rarely rarely cry, years will pass before I do and here I was with tears rolling down my cheek.

The reason I'm sharing this is a- I don't want to forget this experience and b- im hoping what I learned may help others to think the same. I admit I'm a awesome human as we all are, yet self love is a entirely different thing- try to imagine your younger self stood in front of you. How do you feel about them as a separate person? Faced with 3 year old me all I wanted to do was hug her, wrap her in bubble wrap and punch anyone in the throat that even had a bad thought about her. I felt pride for how filled with love and joy she was, I saw her beauty, I felt her warmth... yes a lot has changed but she is still me, for all my bad decisions my bad habits my faults and flaws- I am her! And she accepts me for who I have become- and that is the only persons opinion that should matter.

I do not look after myself, yet with her that was all I wanted. I need to treat my inner child and myself as one!

Imagine a child in front of you- imagine they are you but as their own person, living your life- how do you feel about them? Would you judge them as harshly as you judge yourself? Can you love them and accept them regardless? How do they feel about you? Love your inner child people- they are all the most wonderful special amazing people you could wish to meet.

That little story was indeed wonderful Dude and I'm glad you had such happen to you.

These little moments we share share with our higher selves are indeed often all we need to find that sense of ourselves as just completely willing children ready to have fun!

What an excellent experience!
I've had a couple rounds of that myself and am stunned and awed at the incredible, all forgiving, encompassing love my Higher Self is capable with me and all beings. (people, animals, plants, crystals, other realm beings - all consciousness!) It's very humbling and wondrous!

We've reached the point now where we can converse and talk about all manner of things. Even the littlest of things like 'should I (we)go to this event? What will be of benefit and usefulness if I do?" and "what did I not understand about that interactions with so-and-so?" and so on. I debrief life as a human now with my Higher Self as I once did with my partner/best friend.

I can't imagine not having this loving, infinitely wise, supportive sometimes scolding/chiding in my life! How did I ever make it without H.S.?!?!?!

I'm so glad to hear this is not that uncommon then and I do hope I have the opportunity to take it further as you have crystalsong.

For some reason I didn't actually concider that was my higher self!

Indeed because over time it has seemed to be, the conversation, is about not so much allowing, well it is that too, but the openess to which the higher can speak which seems to rest a lot in how we observe and allow the world to be what it may.

A long time ago I think I read something that said the soul, higher self, God, Source... whatever (I tend towards not naming such if I can, again that freedom to be whatever) sees through us so therefore how we see, how we define the world, our ideas of what it is and isn't, are the limits, as it were, of how that which isn't... can be is!

So coming as a three year old sort of start the discussion of possibility including as much as possible!
