The gym I go to uses a system of things like memory sticks that you put in the various machines to record your work effort. This week I have been going a whole year and the cumulative totals are staggering.
According to the system, I have burnt off 38000 kilocals and "lifted" a half million kilos [ that's the weight loading on the various machines e.g. leg press against 50 Kg weight and I do 2 x 20 per session = 2000 kg and it's the same on the other 5 machines. Don't think there is a weight loading on the treadmill or exercise bike but I could be wrong. Gave me quite a shock to see the figures
