sudden death of a close friend
One of my closest friends tragically and suddenly lost her life last thursday, just two hours after we last spoke. She was hit by a tractor trailer while standing outside of a venue smoking a cigarette. The trailer took too tight of a turn, clipped a utility pole and fell in her and another's direction. The pole pushed her into the street and she got caught in between the back wheels, and later died from injury. The papers are calling it a "freak accident" with a "final destination" feel.
My question is this: At 730pm that night we exchanged our last texts, and around 930pm (the time of the accident) I felt noticeably very ill. Nauseas and dizzy to the point where I could not even lounge up on the couch any longer... I had to lay directly down and go to sleep. This is not normal for me, I stay up until midnight-1am every night. I slept so early and deep that I woke up at 330am to the message from her Mother telling me of her passing.
Has anyone ever experienced this before or do you have any information of anything similar?
I'm just curious, considering it was such a significant sick feeling...

Sorry to hear the news. Must be quite difficult to process. Yes, sometimes we get some apprehension or sense of what is happening. I am sure all on the board would like to send warm wishes and condolences.

My best friend feels when I'm experiencing strong emotions or just "need" her. I don't see why you and your friend would be any different. I'm so sorry that you're experiencing this loss. I lost a very close friend 3 years ago.

My deep condolences on the sudden passing of your friend. That was a shocking event and you must feel devastated. Send your kindest steady thoughts and deep affection out to her. I am very sorry about what happened.
Feeling ill like that completely figures, considering your bond and what happened.
The day my father passed (before I knew) I felt unusually and suddenly dizzy on waking up, like the room was spinning. And tremendously exhausted as I got out of bed.

The same here -- very sorry about your friend and how hard it must be for you. You feeling sick just tells me that you had a very strong bond. I would like to repeat the words of comfort that someone else said to me: your friend is alive in another world. Your bond is probably still in place. God bless you

My deepest condolences. I did not have your experience but on the day my dear friend and neighbor passed away, she turned on my son's music box. Subconsciously, you picked up your friend's passing and it shocked your system.

Condolences on the death of your friend, it is not uncommon to feel as you did when you have a connection to someone you do feel their pain just like an empath does

Heatherj, it's got to be such an incredible shock to lose a buddy in this fashion, so it doesn't surprise me in the least, that it disrupted your normal sleep pattern. My deep condolances to you for that loss.
