Namaste.

Yes, I did notice the last line, and as you say, we can only go by what seems sensible.

Regarding the ego, we could consider ego on different levels.

Maybe for some there is ego as identification with a particular physical form. Which might explain why after death some people cannot believe that they have physically died because as far as they are concerned they are still very much alive.

And there is ego as identification with personality, with all its limitations and idiosyncrasies. So perhaps the question is, what remains of personality after the physical body has died? Because the personality is surely more than just the physical body. And if personality survives physical death (even if only for a certain period), then presumably something of the ego must remain.

Or there is Ego as individualised consciousness, the awareness of oneself as a separate entity. For me, it is this Ego or individualised consciousness which incarnates into form and a new personality, and continues to exist after the personality has been discarded on the astral and mental planes as part of the death process.

We each find an explanation of the afterlife which makes most sense to us.

Peace.

Thank you! I see some similarities, and much thought in your response. Very interesting, and thank you...!

From what I've gathered so far, I'm leaning toward the idea that the ego is the result of the "physical" world. Consciousness created the physical world, but the ego is the result of how the physical entity/creature can function and develop. Consciousness incarnates into the living (and in a sense in even non living things) and attempts to guide the ego. The ego is naturally selfish because it's concerned only with what it wants in coping/surviving/benefiting with its existence. I don't know if I'm clear on that, but just ask if I'm not clear...or you have questions.

I'll add that during my NDE, I felt (and even thought to myself I felt) "whole" (I think that's because my ego was left behind in my dead body and my consciousness was separated from that ego). Other than that, I felt I was "just me"...pure me. I also had a concept of what reality truly is, and this world seemed like a movie...or a play...and very short, and not important in relation to the place I was.
Some say there is a barrier (gate, river, wall, etc.) the conscious encounters. I wasn't able to cross that barrier. By some testimonies from other NDErs they did cross a barrier. I suspect when consciousness stays beyond that barrier is when the physical entity can no longer accept the consciousness to return.

I think we may be getting off topic, but it would be very interesting to share more with each other if you'd like to start another thread, or you can PM me.

Namaste.

One time my spirit guides visited me in my dreams. Afterwards, I was haunted by visitation after visitation by spirits, all giving me inaccurate information. I would say that dream visitations are probably harder to do than you might think, and it might not be worth it if they don't really have anything important to say.

Other than that, the thing I wanted to point out about the after life is it becomes obvious on the other side how limited we were on Earth by our own minds. In the afterlife, there are lots and lots of interesting concepts that make absolutely no sense to us on the Earth plane. You can make the decision to come back to Earth after due time had passed, or you can visit one of the many other planes that we can have lifetimes on. On the other side, we don't feel any pain at all. After awhile, we start to crave the energy of pain again, and we start hurting if we go for long enough without that energy. That's why we make the decision to come back, and it's in each lifetime that we do the brunt work of our spiritual growth.

Hello

Dreams are so fleeting in what we recall from them. Visits in dreams might happen but the brains logic will want to dismiss what it does not understand at times to be real.

I would look to signs outside your dreams. Things like "smells" a fragrance that was worn, or a flowers scent that was liked. Things like a line in a song that stands out to you but your not aware why that is connecting so strongly with you.

Other times it a touch, a flick of the hair but there is no wind present. Things like feathers, or butterflies at times show a connection to the other side.

I honestly expect to see familiar faces and new opportunities, and of course a little vacation, but the inevitable drive to come on back and continue to develop my soul here or elsewhere.

One of them died from cancer, and the other from stroke. My family buried them and we did a lot of prayers for them to be helped. 10, respectively 13 years passed since then and I did not had even one dream with any of them. Why do you think is that? Any insight of what happens after death, can we be sure of an afterlife? One of my older aunts has Alzheimer close to last stage, what will happen to her? What will happen to my parents and my older brothers and sisters? Where are my grandmas and the rest of my family that died, are their souls on Earth or in another Realm?

I was just wondering, what do you expect the afterlife to be? Will the individual that passes on the other side be alone? Will that person once in the afterlife be in the presence of the family that passed before? In what age would that person be in the afterlife? Or will that person be just a pure light form and how we will recognize each other? Does the individual get to be reincarnated right after death? Did you get any information from souls in the afterlife/mediums? What do you think is the most realistic form of afterlife that makes sense in your opinion and why?

Many thanks.

I'm so sorry for this. I'm no medium so i can't contact them but have you tried of asking for a sign? And yes we can be sure of an afterlife. Google Victor Zammit.

One book by Victor Zammit is called: A Lawyer Presents the Evidence for the Afterlife.

That book brings up alot of evidence for the continuing of the soul.

In the afterlife you meet your family and relatives. The common age that people choose to stay in is around 25 years. But it varies depending on personal preference.

People in the afterlife usually choose the human appearance that they had on earth so you will recognise your family there. Some mediums claim that we all just become light forms or clouds of smoke. This isn't true. The light that some people go to is a place of healing that helps you heal things like traumas, mental pain and so forth. Some make the claim that you stay there forever but do not worry because this isn't based on factual evidence. Most people are either respawned to an earthlike location after death or they experience a transition to that earthlike place. Many times the family members will accompany your transition. This is what i believe. But everyone meet their family members. So you can feel safe.

About reincarnation. This is voluntary. There's many options. Some who don't want to reincarnate can become spirit guides. Others may help people over to the other side who are stuck. Many options. Or you can just rest as long as you want. Time there for sure doesn't exist and that's why clocks sometimes stop at the exact point of someone's death. So you can experience an eternity there before you maybe choose to reincarnate (if you want).

The most realistic form of afterlife in my opinion is one where you are the boss over your own life and can have so much fun and do whatever your heart desire. The reason i believe this is the most realistic form of an afterlife is because on earth you can be your own boss and the afterlife is less harsh than this world.

I feel so sorry for you. But it will get better.

Also want to include that if someone choose another appearance in the afterlife than the one they had in life that spirit will still be recognised through clairsentience. Spirits have many psychic abilities. Also family members and relatives always show themselves to you as you recognised them when you cross over.

I do know as a fact that I'll won't be sprouting wings and fly off with the angels. And on top of that, I'm 200% sure there won't be 72 virgins waiting for me or anyone else.
