Black bear sniffing at my Indie dog

Hello. I posted this in the Dreams section as well - but wanted to post it here too (hope that's okay) in case someone has some ideas about this dream from an Indigenous perspective.

My boy Indigo has cancer again - perianal tumour. Last night I had a pretty cool dream.

I was in a van with Indie, I let him out to wade around in a water-filled ditch.

Then a black bear appeared from the forest and began marching toward us. I was terrified - yelling at Indie to get into the van. The black bear inched up behind him and began to sniff at him - his back end (where the tumour was before Monday's surgery).

I tried pushing the bear's face away from my dog, and she started getting angry at me so I backed off. Indie was completely oblivious to the bear sniffing at him.

Yet I still got him into the van and tore away from the bear.

In my culture, bears are teachers about healing and medicine. Great ... but why the heck was I trying to get away from her?

I put down Tobacco tonight and thanked the Spirit Bear for the dream.

Any thoughts? Thank you!

The bear is death seeking your dog. Did you take the dog to the Vet in a van for the operation? You were saving your dog in the dream.

Thanks, Thunder Bow. This surprises me and yet it doesn't. Because why was I scared of the Bear unless it was trying to take my dog?

No, the van was the first vehicle I had when I adopted Indie. We now have a Nitro.
