General Query Goddesses of Travel or Journeys

Hi,

I am trying to find or compile a general list of goddesses of journeys. Any cultural faith or mythology is acceptable.

Thanks in advance

Hermes was the Greek god of travellers. The Romans called him Mercury. But he was a god, I can't think of any goddesses.

She was a real person - Queen of the Iceni tribe in pre-Roman Britain.
She was not a goddess and has very little to do with travellers.
Sorry.

Catholics have St Christopher. Sorry but that's the best I can do.

The Welsh have Rhiannon. She's probably a reflection of an ancient British deity related to the horse goddess Epona.

Rhiannon is often shown riding a white horse, so has a connection to travelling. She comes from Pembrokeshire as well, so she would have been used to travelling - Pembrokeshire being a peninsular on a peninsular it's pretty isolated even today. Pembrokeshire is also the gateway into Annwn, the British Underworld, where Rhiannon certainly traveled. So, Rhiannon is good candidate for a deity associated with travel.

So far so good

Thanks so far so good, Epona was one i have already found. There seems to be a dearth of male deities and few female ones. The Norns are a prominence that i am looking at now. Actually Boudica does not seem half bad as a lead at least, despite the fact that she was mortal and maybe not travel associated. but worth looking into anyway, my Celtic knowledge is lacking overall. More submissions welcome.

How about Elen? She's a goddess associated with straight, well made roads in Wales. As with most British gods and goddesses, she has hazy historical origins; she was married to Macsen Wledig, the only British Roman Emperor.

Trying to stay away from Christian based figures.

Elen was interesting and apt maybe but as a pagan of sorts I am obviously trying to stay away from Christian based figures. But it was interesting reading.

So far Rhiannon, Shannon, Epona and the Norns seem most likely. I had hoped for more.

The Disir in general are hard to research, but the Valkyrie would seem to link in for journey certainly and not in necessarily gloomy way.
