The same as for breath flowing and heart beating ... looking, accepting, celebrating their pulsations for which the āIā as in identity has no role to play.

The meditation I do with them all depends on my intentions at the time. I have two I've used quite a lot in the past. The twin hearts meditation which I use if I'm wanting to work on my heart but I do pillar of light meditations if I'm working on something like astral projection.

I used to meditate mostly on my 3rd eye and crown chakras - I wanted to go as high as I could and very fast. But now I mostly meditate on my heart as I'm not in so much of a hurry these days and I find it more meaningful. And everything comes from the heart eventually...Root chakra meditations can be very interesting! I only do these occassionally when I need more grounding or action in my life. I use mudras quite a bit as I find they really help me focus my attention at the different levels - I mostly do it by feel and experiment with joining different fingers to the thumb until I find one that feels helpful.
