Crystals exposure to water

Hello :)

I wanted to see if anyone has knowledge on reactions to crystals in salt water, regular tap water, or chlorine water? I have crystal beaded necklaces and bracelets and I wanted to know if its ok to put them in water. I heard the following:

OK TO PUT IN WATER:
a small selection of crystals such as the Quartz family of minerals such as Amethyst, Clear Quartz and Citrine
Clear Quartz
Amethyst
Smoky Quartz

Citrine
Tiger’s Eye
Agate
Snow Quartz
Aventurine
Red Jasper
Jet
Amber

NOT OK:
Amber
Turquoise
gymspum
Red coral
Fire opal
Moonstone
Calcite
Kyanite
Kunzite
Angelite
Azurite
Selenite
anything with-ITE !!!!!
Tangerine Quartz (As the orange colour is created by traces of iron oxide on the outer surface it can either rust or wash off and become clear Quartz as one person I know experienced)
Carnelian
Galena
Lodestone
Mica
Moldavite
Opals
Turquoise
Obsidian
Lapis Lazuli
Talc
Malachite
Enhydro quartz

Amber listed in both categories.
I would say Amber should be in the first group.

Amber and Jet are hard to get in water...... they like to float.

Everything else looks spot on.

I ran my tanzanite under water earlier because there was puddy in the rough edge, and I think it was okay.

I swim with amber, Lapis Lazuli, Moldavite, carnelian, kunzite, kyanite, and moonstone on a daily basis in a chlorine pool since 2017.

Really?? And you never had a problem? Color change, cracking, etc?

Some Amber you have to be careful with. Real Amber there is no problem.
But some of the Amber burned as a resin is in some cases a paste that has no Amber and dissolves easily in water.

I don't see why these shouldn't be put in water:
Moonstone
Carnelian
Obsedian
Moldavite
Turquoise

Likely red coral too, after all it comes from the ocean.

Never use salt water for crystals though. I guess yonks ago people did this as they now warn against it. The salt can get into cracks and later cause a crystal to break.
Chlorine???? Who'd come up with putting crystals in chlorine water???
Swimming in a pool is different from a bowl of chlorine water as the amount may be much higher.
I wouldn't swim with it either though.

Just use plain water, cooked or springwater so there's less chalk in it.

Only the kunzite showed any change, it is less translucent.

A lot of red coral has been dyed. Depending on the dye, the dye might wash out. Just my opinion.
