Something I noticed just now, is I dropped in to see what's going on, and there are only 17 people signed in, so how would that be considered 'busy' for a server that takes care of a big site like this, with up to 40+ at times?! It doesn't make sense.

They share a server with another site, so I understand.
And this problem has been happening on and off for months....
I'm sure we can all live with it!

The number of people on this site has nothing to do with this. It is a program error that happens when the page loads to quick. There is a gap in the data flow that causes it. Best to delete recent history, close and reopen the browser, and or, reopen with a different browser. That has fixed that for me. Be sure to re-enter the thread through the Topic page rather than clicking on the tread title you see on the left.

Not claiming to be a teckie, but I've read about some recent nasty internet tactics by internet giants... I googled "deliberate traffic throttling by ISP" and got this - it's a hot issue (egads methinks democracy is at stake!  ):

I don't if any of you remember when the forum had a major crash back in 2010 0r maybe it was before then. I had registered back in October 2009 the first time but after the crash I had to reregister, and if you recall it took a long time to get the site back up and running and ever since then the sserver will say its busy, so this is nothing new.
Yes it can be frustrating but I also take it as a sign that what I am posting is meant to be posted... sometimes I try later and I had the same problem and take it not to post it. And I stop trying.
