The Angel & Her Grand Machine

The Angel & Her Grand Machine

I once met an angel,
I met her in a dream.

She graced a stool before a desk, in front of a grand machine.
Like nothing before I have ever seen,
A diamond shaped viewing screen.
Reflecting alien objects that scattered the room,
From each given angle the many facets did gleam.

I questioned this being in an age-old tone:
Mam.. You must tell I,
From where did you purchase this glorious machine?

She paused for a second,
And studied my presence.
Then after what seemed like an aeon,
She told me to round up her phesants.

In return I also paused for a second.
Again an aeon did seem to fly,
Until eventually I asked.. but surely, why?

This question it seemed did stir a child-like laugh.

She then looked deeply down straight into my eyes,
Her gaze so soft and delicate, like sweet lullabies.
Then whispered in my ear with a voice like thunder...

My dear sweet child, I'm sorry to laugh,
But this is only a dream, you must simply wake up.
