i was asking if others feel my perfection, not that i'm perfect lol, but if thats their "reality" then i thought that they must view me through that idea and hence see my perfection...eeeew i don't like to say "my perfection"...

i would add that i saw the "you're perfect" idea on a few guru youtube vids so was thinking maybe folk have gotten it from there, only the titles i never weatched...in fact a quick search reveals:: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTIfZB7WLkA couldn't watch it, almost had an allergic reaction

Well necta .... I clicked on this youtube - not deciding if I would watch it or not. However, I was spared from viewing it (yeah, I wouldn't have been able to either .... was so outside my comfort zone). This was because, just as the video started, a huge orange banner went across the bottom of the screen saying STOP! I thought what's this? Has God banned it? Then...."Do you want to be a Utube celebrity?" What a dilemma!

(Actually that moment was perfect - the irony of it all!)

Its kinda like the saying he's not perfect but he's perfect for me.
Nobody is " perfect" but at the same time we are all perfect naturally but of course we want to make improvements and learn more !!

I am trying to understand this belief so would welcome feedback. I haven't yet achieved sainthood so, as a mere mortal, am subject to being less than perfect. This is why I believe in improving myself, developing, learning (e.g. from books and/or from the experiences of others). I feel this process will be continuous throughout my life since growth is not static.

From what I have gleaned from those sharing the belief (that they are perfect), there is no need to learn....they are "there" and being is sufficient. I realise that if we have achieve enlightenment then that is true but, from my interactions with those holding this belief (of being perfect) , I have not felt that this is the case. To be more accurate, I have not felt that they are more spiritually evolved than myself. I am being honest here - not facetious. I have a lot of humility and am very keen to always learn.

If you believe that we are perfect in essence only, then I am still at a loss as to why learning is still shunned.

We have faults that we need to address, learn from and correct. This is surely what partly constitutes spiritual progress. I don't see that our faults can be perfect; this is a contradiction in terms. If you disagree, please explain. I want to understand.

Hi Amy,

I haven't read all 200+ posts (hehe sorry), but I believe we are perfect because we were made by a perfect God and to say we're not perfect is kind of like saying God can make mistakes (which I think he can't).

So what happened is that since we can't un-perfect, or un-God ourselves, we did the next best thing, which is to cause ourselves to forget. This way, we can consciously choose to be reach that state and in so we experience who we truly are, by choice, as opposed to simply knowing that we are.

So technically, there is nothing to learn, because we already know. However, there are things to remember. Plus, we have yet to experience that which we already know.

So many italics, hahaha. I gonna go back to reading the posts in this thread...
