The $1,000,000 opens up so many choices and possibilities. With it you can buy the amazing car or the quaint cottage, take that wonderful vacation or get that college degree you yearn for.
Why opt for one specific thing when you can choose choice?

I don't think any of those things you can do with $1,000,000 makes me happy. Money doesn't bring me happiness at all. But then again that's just me...

To get a degree you need to be accepted by the college - money can't buy that. Some supercars cost over 1 million dollars. You can buy a studio, but it might be on the other side of town - not near you. A one year holiday may easily cost over 1 million; it depends on where you go or what you do. Money cannot buy you friends or a loving partner or the freedom to own dozens of pets. Money cannot buy the freedom to live in a country of your choice.
I think the lure of the 1 million is stronger than the real benefit.
