The world has become more disconnected. Most of the contacts I had were on Facebook and WhatsApp. Although social media is very handy at times, it has created a fragmentation. I rarely saw the 'friends', I had anymore and even picking up the phone to call someone is gone. I cancelled my FB a while ago and since then my social network is basically gone. I recently moved due to a divorce to a new home a few hours away from where I use to live and a 'friend', who I have known for 30 years said he was willing to help me move if I would pay him. For me, doing something for friends has never been doing something for free and out of love, so yes, it is a harsh world. But when you make a choice to change the way you live it often comes with a price. I put my trust in the Universe now, because I know there are people out there for me.
