Think twice before you ask.
1. they will not delete your account; only deactivate it.
2. If you decide to come back it is very hard to get ahold of the administration to have them reactivate it for you. After 3 days of emails that didn't make it to them, I finally had to contact a friend I had made here and she flagged them down and asked to reactivate my account for me.

I can do that for you candlelight. If I don't hear back from you within the next 24 hours, (giving you time to reconsider) I will deactivate your account.

I asked for my account to be deleted while my head was not in the right place. My request was not honoured, and I'm glad.
Sometimes when I want to force myself to steer clear of a forum for a while, I go to the reset password option and do a keyboard smash for new password, then log out. That means I can't log in again without going through the forgotten password procedure, which is usually a bit of a carry on, so it makes you really think whether you want to or not.

Hello
I like this. There are times when we need a break and there are times when we need to know that we can ignore SF. This is why we have the 24 hours in place (for most cases) it is best.
