Do you listen to anything when you meditate?

I sometimes listen to music.

Do you guys listen to stuff while meditating or do you prefer silence?

And what do you listen to?

Meditation has many forms, some of which focus on something external (e.g. music, a candle, an image) while others focus inwards, excluding all sense-objects. I prefer the inward focus.

But we each find a practice which suits us, and over time that practice may change.

Peace.

Some forms listen to an internal physical rhythm like breath or heartbeat.

In deep meditation, sound is irrelevant.

Hemi-sync binaural beats courtesy of the Monroe Institute. They can and do turbo power one's meditation and combined with meditation they seem to be making me a better person.

My apartment that ive been in for 5 years now is very electric heavy and also has thin walls.. The neighborhood isnt much quiet either. So I do like to put music to over opt out unwanted noise. I would enjoy a woodland or beach to meditate on any other day..

Psychedelic trance and ambient music is what i turn to. Good youtube channels to make note of are Ambient Occlusion and Psychamber

I am new, so I am still doing guided meditations. I tried a YouTube chakra sleep meditation and used it today during acupuncture. Very relaxing! Very grounding!

I like a desert campfire background sound track.
