Witchcraft is the oldest of all. Christianity in UK is a dying religion, many people say they are Christian but only about 5% practice it !
Saxons christian ? - the North reverted to paganism when the Norse incursions began. The North was "converted" by the Irish Christian sect which was an animist, druid influenced religion. The Saxons were a small number, the native Celts remained pagan.

The Britons left in Saxon territories wouldn't have much choice about staying Christian. Where the British were able to resist the English invasion, they remained Christian. Y Gododdin was written in the north, and celebrates the Christianity of the Brirish. The immigrant families from the North also produced hundreds of Welsh saints. They were the people who brought Christianity to Ireland and to Brittany.

I lean more towards heathenry than anything else.

Perhaps some of them did. And perhaps Y Gododdin was written by a Christian. The evidence I cited -- pagan shrines maintained, Christian churches becoming disused, pagan burials -- are solid facts.

There are around 700 'llans', sacred Christian enclosures in Wales. Each of them supported a tribal, Chritian community. There are also hundreds of llans in Brittany, which were set up by saints fleeing the English. That's a lot of Christians.

I'm a big fan of Shamanism which could be considered the world's oldest religion. I one day would like to become a shaman.
