Ancient Persian knowledge about God?

There's one interesting thing that struck me (a native Farsi speaker). In Farsi (spoken in Iran, parts of Afghanistan and Tajikistan), the words for 'self' and 'God' are virtually the same.

Self: Khod
God: KhodA

Ancient knowledge or just coincidence? What do you think?

I dunno, I'm still working on 'good and God".
Coincidence?
I think not.

God realization and self discovery mean the same thing so I am not surprised by the meaning of the words. But still:
Am I God? No.
Am I not God? No
Don't ask me to explain that because I can't lol.

Well Miss Hepburn, lovely to hear about your fondness of these old poets. My dad is crazy about them. He keeps citing them to me.....to the point that I go completely nuts sometimes. Unfortunately, while I am a native speaker, I also am an average native speaker which entails that I lack the literary skills to truly analyze their sentences and appreciate their beauthy.

Or not created by, but being the creator..........which basically hints towards this notion of auto-deity.....for lack of a better word...

I was also first confronted with this idea that God is everything which was created (rather than being the creator, he was the creation) in Iran. I think it was based on Darwish teachings....some kind of Suffi branch.
