A very brave lady who truly loves animals

Gill Dalley, the co-founder of the Soi Dog Foundation, lost the lower half of both her legs as the result of saving a dog from drowning in Thailand. But she did not wallow in self-pity. She learned to walk with artificial limbs and is back to work - saving the lives of countless dogs and cats.

This woman has a heart of gold and deserves a medal. Just watch this video for the story:

Many blessings to this wonderful woman! If anyone wishes to learn more about the work of Soi Dog (and perhaps make a donation to help dogs and cats who are suffering), their site can be seen at www.soidog.org

Gill Dalley is a really wonderful woman. Thanks to Gill and her husband who founded the Soi Dog rescue, stray dogs and cats in Thailand now have a hope. And they work hard in their fight against the dog meat trade in Thailand and now Vietnam.

Soi Dog also has a merchandise page where proceeds go to support the work they do.

http://soi-dog-foundation.myshopify.com/

They ship all over the world and have some nice items. Some of the gifts which can be purchased are for the dogs and cats in the Rescue (such as Rabies shots for 5 dogs....etc)

This made me think....much of the dreadful abuse street dogs and strays suffer in Asia (and other countries such as east Europe) is caused by long-standing hatred of these dogs....brought about very often by the fear of Rabies.
And when I looked at the cost of the shots, it works out at only £2 per dog. That's just a little over $3......the cost of a big bar of chocolate.

Just think -if a million people gave $3...what a change that could start to bring about....?
