Trigger Point Therapy

Anyone here into this? I think it is probably the most amazing cure I've ever stumbled upon and something you can do completely on your own.

99% of my problems were due to trigger points. I had (still have) really tight hips, and my hips end up causing trigger points in the glutes, abs, lower back, and it's basically like a chain reaction, that goes all the way up to my shoulders neck and hands. But it's not just muscular pain.

For years I was struggling with unexplained digestive problems and I tried everything to cure it. I went to naturopaths, specialists, many doctors, I tried everything, until one day after releasing my hips, I discovered some really bad trigger points in my abdominal muscles. So I read the trigger point therapy manual, and I learned that trigger points in the abs can cause pretty serious digestive ailments (and vice versa).

For years I've been telling them that I thought my low back pain, pelvis pain and stomach issues were all related and they told me it was not and they never even looked into my idea that it could be all related. But of course, my intuition was right. Well, it turns out the rectus abdominous trigger point actually wraps around the ribs and sends pain right into the lower back, along with causing bloating and a whole host of digestive problems.

It's just amazing how much havoc trigger points can create on the body, things we don't even realize. Typical injuries and things like arthritis are commonly misdiagnosed, it's actually just an angry trigger point and all it needs is deep massage to be released.

It's also crazy how muscle imbalances and posture can really lead to trigger points.
For example, I used to think my shoulder pain was due to the trigger point in the infraspinatus muscle, which is near the shoulder blade. But that's only part of the story. The trigger point is also exasperated because my pecs and the subscapularis are too tight, which basically means there's an imbalance.

I'm starting to realize that during badminton, I use my core a lot, doing an insane amount of abdominal twists. Now I think the problem stems from my hips being too tight, which causes the abs and obliques to not be able to perform right which in turn angers the low back and erector spinae muscles, and that connects to the chest and subscapularis which connects to my shoulders.

I think it's the movement of spinal rotation that is causing my trigger points to continue to flare up, but I'm not sure why.

When I view my body mechanics and posture, everything seems fine, the only areas that need work are I have 0 flexibility with hip external rotation, and 0 flexibility in the calves, and also some limited flexibility when it comes to shoulder extension. I'm going to see a chiropractor soon to see if maybe the trigger points keep flaring up due to a structural issues, and he might be able to tell me if he can see any obvious muscle imbalances too.

Sorry for the huge rant, I'm just very passionate about trigger point therapy. It is very amazing, and I really wish more professionals knew about it, it would have saved me years and years of pain and anguish if I had found out about it much sooner.
