vetca I like a lot, probably vast majority of what you post but must say I'm not feeling the new madchild material. Was a fan of old Swollen Members somewhat, my ex gf and friend of mine have met him etc. but it all sounds the same to me now tbh, plus for my tastes it's too self-obsessive and narcissistic or something. Idk just my opinion. Old friend of mine loves Swollen Members after he saw a concert and it used to be the only hip hop he liked, so different strokes and all that. Not my style really personally speaking.
Lot of good Canadian hip-hop though, Skratch Bastid (also from Vancouver) I'm a fan of and love Shad who's he's worked with before as well. One of the more innovative MC's out there atm imo, Shad I mean.
Here's a doobie brothers dj interpretation/rendition from him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkRRmQAVrHA
Pep Love - Hip Hop My Friend https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qERA67X594Y (not Canadian obvs. but something recent I've listened to)

yo DD, i really like that one by Madchild...first time ive ever come across him and never checked swollen members (seen the name) so no idea what any other of his stuff is like. i think its insanely good and i agree, a bit too something and not for every mood. problem is, is that i like dirty beats and generally they're "less spiritual", lyrics wise, be nice to have both. that crazy monk is epic. oh nice doobie brothers mash, that tune is primed for mixing
listenin to Shabba D cos my son posted a selfie with him at a drum n bass roll in bristol on saturady, s'alright, i could get down to it, back in the day

That's fair of course vec and I'm not saying Madchild can't flow, he can. And in fact his lyrics are (or were at one point) quite spiritual in a sense although I'd tend to call them more occult-ish/esque, point being he does have the metaphysical element down. Personally just not a fan of the content, (among other things) plus I've been hearing him do it for over a decade (and do it better imo) so it's kind of played out to me at this point.
In fairness though, I haven't heard all or even all that much of his new stuff so who am I to judge really.
Time for some spaced out DJ Spooky up in here.
Rekonstruction, Post Human Sophistry & Ibid (-edit- keep changing songs, already posted lot of them here before).
