I COME INTO YOUR LODGE
Walking the long and lonely path
I have come at last
.....to the door of your lodge
Here by the threshold
I lay down my little quiver
..................filled with arrows of anger.
My blanket of hiding slides from my back,
..................falls gently around my feet
I remove my gown of sorrow
..................fold my leggings of grief
My moccasins, worn thin on my bitter path
...................slip from my weary feet
I unbind my hair, tied severely
................with the binding of resistence
And allow only this crowning flowering sheild
................to cover me
With no sense of loss, I step away from these
................my arms, companions of my journey
I come into your lodge unguarded,
................undisguised, undismayed, ready
Wrap me in your arms and blankets
.....Shield me and be my covering
..........for I come into your lodge
................in trust.and love.

This poem brings with it such a poignancy and feeling of relief.
The sort of relief that makes your knees buckle.
it is truly lovely..
And American Indian? wo-o-w....

The mind's of the two lovers
Have no idea what has happened to them.
How have they become so intoxicated?
They think they have been struck by Cupid's arrow.
But, no, their heart's have been tuned to
Be receivers of love.
Their hearts have become like radios finely tuned
To one frequency out of ten thousand.
This frequency is the one constantly transmitting
from Heaven.
Now, Who was It that turned the dial?

Abbara...that was quite lovely...your last one.

Cupid's Hunting Arrow
Being hit by that arrow is painless enough
But pulling it out is something no one should have to do
Being hit by that arrow is not so rough
But pulling it out . . . well shoot.
He stalks so stealthily and shoots
so suddenly.
No warning.
Sometimes I think he’s more
of a hunter than a lover
And I wonder
If the prey could learn to hear him coming.
Or not succumb to his sweet injurees so quicklee
To admit uncertainees
Within
He certainly seems like a poacher
Separating the young from their mothers
Shouting matches over matches and dates
Does he like poking and chaining his quarry like a pet
Enjoy a-rrow
it has with others
grrowling
over mates and terrritory
Maybe Michael Vick and the Romans, both in stadiums, learned from the best.

TheGreenQueen.... too funny! I also like the line about pulling the arrow out. And this one... Separating the young from their mothers. Fun poem. I went and read some of your other poems from the links you provided. You have a warrior spirit, edgy, spoiling to do battle with the windmills... reminding me of "ME... just this"close to being cranky about being in life again and having all the memory of expansiveness, capacity to love, power to create... stripped away again.... and I'll find it by golly, just watch me." LOLOLOL Just watch out, note that I turned into a bowl of utter surrender and mushy sentiment when Cupid finally pierced my armor. Oh it was grand... I'll be looking for that fat little Cherub for the rest of my life.

Agape Amore Filios
Ah, saddest tale
of heart and soul
of pathos there’s no lack
When I amore you, my love
but you filios back
Lines surely blur
I get confused
Agape with pure agape’
And I am drunken from such love
Like I’ve been fed on poppy.
A soul-some stew
these three delights
each comforts part of me
but I am searching for that love
returned unbrotherly.

If I Fall In Love
If I fall in love
will I still be able to walk
on the Earth?
Or will I float right off
as soon as love gives birth?
If I fall in love
Will I be pulled down
underneath some tide of pain
and have to sink or swim
all on my own again?
If I fall in love at all
Will I survive the landing?
These thoughts close in mind
Why would one choose a fall
As a means of entering
Into such a thing as love
............at all?

Melted.
Good for nothing.
Useless.
Ruined completely.
Drunk, nonfunctional.
Dizzy, falling, bumping into things.
Lost, walking in circles.
Unintelligible.
Love, please never leave me.
