Poetic Challenge: Cupid Hit Me With His Arrow

Let's share some love poems we wrote cause Cupid hit us with an arrow. Here is mine:

AND IF YOU DO.... I WILL BE YOURS FOREVER

If you come to me
and no spark leaps
between our eyes,
between our souls
I will know
you are another lesson,
you are another herald
of the one who is coming
for one is coming........

I am so frightened that you won’t be ‘Him’
but equally frightened that you will be ‘Him.’
And if you are him,
I am frightened that I have not made myself ready.

Launch an assault on my castle!
Bombard my walls with gentleness and caring.
Stroke my face, my neck and chin.
Whisper to me and tell me it will be ok,
that love still exists in the world and it can be ours.
Don’t let me run, wrap your arms around me.
Hold me close and loose....ask me to stay...
And if you do...... I will be yours forever.

Ok let me have a go.

Cupids arrow sourced my heart
Penetrated my entire being
Lavished me in a shadow song

An open dance
A mystical one
Where every care
No longer cared

Where loving presence
Merged in tides
Of rising, drowning sorrows

A comforting, loving, terror ride
Soaring depths, like no tomorrow
Frames of pure delightful loveliness
Pierced deep into my heart

The void of deep despair
Captured every crevice
Sourced and torn
Held in his name

Engulfed in waves
There was nothing tame
Passing momentary gasps
Of this unified field of transparency

Held long and lovely
Enduring painful loving ecstasy
Lovers nesting
Deep in flames

Earth and fire alive
Turning every tide
Into an oceanic dance
Of deep desire

Convulsing and sorting
Cupids arrow
Pierced in such haste
For those with hungry face

Lovers seeking to bask
In the dance of spirits face
A greater united place

A trance of symphonies
That was once an idle song
Merged as two
Where all belongs

As the gift of arrow
Faces, hands
Feelings, dancing
Energy plans

Break the heart
Shatter every wall
The flame of cupid's arrow
Earthed into being
In two hearts on fire.

Tell me about your cupid arrow reflection Abbara?

Your poem seems to reflect the fear of loving again and old lessons of love where they were lesson not the "one" love you longed for? so both anticipation and apprehension? Also the type of love you would open your heart for at that point in your life?

Tell me about your cupid arrow reflection Abbara?

Divorced for 17 years... Endeavoring to be my healthiest, happiest, clearest before I'd entertain the thought of comittment...

He Is the One!

Wandering down the years since then,
I found companions, time again
And told myself, though poised to run,
He is for fun. He is for fun.

Now comes a man unlike the rest,
Who's brought from me, my very best.
My joyful heart cry has begun,
He is the one! He is the one!

Loved this challenge - thankyou Abbara!

And 'He is the One' has such joy and lightness of spirit!

My offering has a different slant but it is what has happened to me so far in this life..

The Arrow

Wing of steel
Flight birthed from Cupids bow
I bare my chest for you
I am done now with finding love
I was moving too fast, such endeavour
Poor target is one who scurries
Never still, never patient

Wing of steel
Flight birthed from Cupids bow
I am surrendered, yet naïve
My stillness so clear an invitation
There can only be one outcome
But I did not know this; that
There would come a rain of arrows

Wings of steel
Flights birthed from Cupids bow
Does he have no mercy this archer?
Me, here, pinioned by Love
Such glorious agony, this love affair
With Life itself; this vessel overflowing,
To the overwhelming fanfare of my heart

Yes, natures flow, I found the one. I was resistant, but this arrow came from across the universe and I felt it headed right for my trembling self... The bulls eye center of his target. Fated, melting, irresistible, giddy love. He was Native American, to explain the theme in this poem of my capitulation.

I COME INTO YOUR LODGE

Walking the long and lonely path
I have come at last
.....to the door of your lodge
Here by the threshold
I lay down my little quiver
..................filled with arrows of anger.
My blanket of hiding slides from my back,
..................falls gently around my feet
I remove my gown of sorrow
..................fold my leggings of grief
My moccasins, worn thin on my bitter path
...................slip from my weary feet
I unbind my hair, tied severely
................with the binding of resistence
And allow only this crowning flowering sheild
................to cover me
With no sense of loss, I step away from these
................my arms, companions of my journey
I come into your lodge unguarded,
................undisguised, undismayed, ready

Wrap me in your arms and blankets
.....Shield me and be my covering
..........for I come into your lodge
................in trust.and love.

LOLOLOL

Love... Softens hearts and souls and tears down barriers.
I have made a vow to bare my breast to love forevermore!
It was that good!

Oh this poem is delightful. These kind of arrows that expose us deeply and strip us of the old comforts. well loved protective garments... Sometimes it is the only way to know more of love..more of self..

Native American has a lovely ring to it..
