Jonspen, I know that people like to think of any energy that they see or orb or paranormal event as another being or soul, and it may very well be. But, as someone who deals with energy on a daily basis (I am a healer), I can tell you that ALL energy itself is the substance of consciousness. As a result, it all carries its own intellegence and reacts with the environment, both physical and non-physical. So, to answer you question, yes, energy is not "just" energy, it is a representation of emotion, intelligence, ether and information. In other words, YOU are a mass of energy, but are you 'just' a mass of energy? Describing yourself as such is likely an oversimplification, don't you think?
In the physical world things appear very separate, there is the physical matter of stone and water, the intellegence of your mind and the emotion that produces your feelings. In the spiritual world, as vibration increases, there is a convergence of all these qualities, because all are the product of energy.
