Travelling to a destination

Dream that i was on a journey to a object/destination (cant remember what exactly) that felt very important to get to.

The very beginning of this journey was mostly a party that i wasn't into at all. I left to get to my destination and along the way i met a female. (face not recognizable) But she felt like we were together before or at the time. We were travelling across country, farm land. seemed like the past like the 50's. we ended up stopping for something at a house this place also felt like a party at another friends house. While i was there cops showed up and i had to discard something in the basement that I didn't even know was on me. Right when they pulled up outside my first thought was i wont make it to my destination. as soon as i got rid of what i had to i woke up.

I suspect this dream is a reflection on old conditioning you are trying to become aware of. When you set your sights on something you have a sense that you need to be serious, all work, no play kind of thing. There may also be a bit of worry in you that you are not doing thing right or you don't feel inclined to follow the rules but fear getting caught. Maybe why you feel you have to approach things from an all work, no play perspective. There is a familiar feeling (woman) that comes up when you go in a new direction or try for a new goal that you aren't quite recognizing but if you put some thought into it, it would probably come clear to you.

So how do you approach new tasks and goals? Do you want to bend the rules but feel worried about not doing things by the book? You may be trying to bury the feeling that you are doing something wrong but having that worry in the first place can undermine our confidence and ultimate outcome. So just ask yourself if you maybe take things super serious and if you also worry about doing thing 'right'. As if there is only one right way when there isn't. A dream maybe trying to help you take unhelpful pressure off yourself.

the location ("object/destination") you're aiming for is happiness;
it's the ultimate purpose for doing anything, to be happy.
you began at a party, but something didn't feel right. after traveling,
you arrive at another party: happiness is available everywhere you
might go. when the authorities show up, you realize you've got some
object which is forbidden. that thing may not even have a name;
it's an idea or attitude you'd picked up long ago (perhaps it was given
to you while unawares). releasing that idea/attitude will allow you to
find the happiness you seek. it's not necessary to label, nor even
understand what that thing is/was; it's not wrong to have held that
belief for so long, but it prevents your achieving happiness... it belongs
in the cellar, at the foundation of things, unclaimed.

Thank you for your wonderful insight everyone.

My interpretation was in line with Horace.
But the different perspective from Michelle and perfection are much help.
Both correlate with the present in ways I wasn’t looking at. Things I’m working on currently and to hear someone call it out like that is more inspiration. Close relation with habits work and certai people and old conditioning.

The dream is still vivid today and I don’t usually remember dreams that often. I’m glad I posted about this.
