yeah, it's tricky getting in a groove.. or knowing where to begin if you haven't done much healing of any nature before.

however, once I did simply start tapping about how I didn't want to do it and low and behold I started tapping about several issues right after that..

hmm I wonder if there's a good reason for my procrastination now.. I really believe eft is the answer to so many problems.. but can't seem to put my finger on it.. how I could have the remedy I've been waiting for all along at my fingertips and still choose disregard it.

ah well I still have a couple more chapters in the book I'm reading..
well, I was smoking weed, and felt healing myself is something I should do sober.. so I have quit smoking again, but am occupying myself otherwise unhealthily.. well maybe I should just stop talking about it until I do something about it..

Xan you would have to read the book I speak of to understand what it's really all about.. there is even an exercise in it that has your palm/hand over a certain part on your chest.. I think it's your collarbone spot.. but the book is really intricate

Sapphirez... The palm on the chest position covers several points in that area including the collar bone point, the heart center, and the neurolymphic points that used to be part of the basic EFT protocol. These are known as Sore Spots and aid in releasing Psychological Reverals or resistances, such as you are describing.

I find this hand position very effective with the Setup phrase and sometimes it is even enough in itself... especially when used along with the other palm on the the crown of the head and then below the navel... with gentle breathing.

You've given me ideas for possible setup phrases, if you don't mind some suggestions to get you started....

"Even though my excuses are now more obviously self-sabotaging, I deeply love and accept myself."
"Even though I can't put my finger on why I've been procrastinating, ........"
"Even though I occupy myself unhealthily, ........."
"Even though the remedy is literally at my fingertips and I still choose to disregard it, ......."

thank you sweet Xan. hmmm I guess this is how I discover my learning style is best when I'm instructed visually by example.. I don't really know what the chest position is, and to be honest I'm not even sure where exactly the main "sore spot" is that is probably the most important placement in the book I'm reading.. There are pictures in the book and I thought I had it right but really doubt it actually.. maybe I can find a better depiction online. and do you think they are the same positions?

Thank you for the phrase suggestions! They're all so good I don't know which I would pick first.. hmmm.. well, I guess just by reading them and putting a little thought into it I can see the 2nd and 3rd would be most relevant.. since I did recently quit pot which was important and since I am still reading about the eft even if I haven't begun it yet.

the book is called Instant Emotional Healing. it is really awesome, I think that you should give it a read, I would love to hear what you gather from it.. and what your thoughts are on the differing approaches. I think this book incorporates more tft in addition to the emdr, but I could be mistaken because my research over all fields is still relatively minimal.

I have this other book called The Instinct to Heal, which I've only read a portion of, and it talks about emdr and heart coherence. Have you heard of heart coherence?

lol and lastly, Theta healing was mentioned to me today. have you heard anything about that as well? I tried googling but I see copyright symbols all over and it appears a bit more guarded, as in seeing a specialist is nearly a prerequisite.. I didn't delve *that* deeply tho.. but it seems like it's just a way to bring your focus to that certain part or activity of your brain.. and then compliment it with eft

I've become positively 'Xan-ish' in my enthusiasm for EFT, ha!

For example, last night I started doing one or two, which led eventually to a whole string of them popping up, it was unbelievable! It gets easier when I read these tips from the more experienced users.

To the OP

I came across these videos the other day and enjoyed the guy's pretty simple style of using EFT . Nice you can watch him tap and do the affirmations as opposed to a book.

The chest position is simpler than you're making it, Sapphirez. You just put your palm on the center of your chest and that plus your fingers cover quite a few important points.

There is no "main' sore spot, but you feel around on the chest area until you find a spot that's pretty tender and use that. Some practitioners have stopped using the sore spot because it hurts and other positions can be used for the same purpose just as well... such as the Karate Chop point on the outside edge of the hand... or I tell people just to use the chest position.

the book is called Instant Emotional Healing. it is really awesome, I think that you should give it a read, I would love to hear what you gather from it.. and what your thoughts are on the differing approaches.

I did study Instant Emotional Healing a few years ago and found it quite good. The variety of EFT approaches doesn't matter as long as you feel comfortable with it are getting the results you want.

I
don't know anything about heart coherence, but I have used emdr with EFT after the release/tapping processes as it helps to integrate the changes through one's body-mind.

Theta healing was mentioned to me today. have you heard anything about that as well?

There may be some effective techniques in "Theta Healing", but the fact that it's so guarded sort of turns me off from the commercialism. EFT is given away freely and works so well.

Theta is the brain wave state of deep meditation, dreaming and creativity. As I see it you could turn any healing method into Theta work just by relaxing down deeply into the silent space within yourself.

If you want to learn a little about brain waves check out: http://www.annawise.com/brainwaves-the-work-13

Thanks FF... I like the variety of applications that David Childerley offers in his DVD's... from healing and changing habits into spiritual awakening.

By the way, I'm glad you didn't give up on EFT despite your initial resistance.

thanks for posting this. I had never heard of this before, but I just sat here and tried it out. I'm amazed to say that I do feel better

My energy is definitely lighter and clearer, and I feel very calm. Thank you so much for talking about this technique.

I am working on developing some affirmation statements, and am running into a logical breakdown LOL.

The issue I want to work on is: "I don't like myself" so then my statement becomes "Even though I don't like myself, I deeply love and accept myself."

Kind of illogical? Does that matter to the subconscious mind?
