Meditation and Motivation

I had an experience during meditation in which I went within myself and became the universe. I was still conscious of what was around me (noises and such) but I was also no longer "ME". I felt as if I was the endless universe but I contained within my body. I have had many other experiences such as the sensation of floating above my body, etc. Yet when I meditate daily I feel dull, and have no lust for life. I lack motivation because everything seems so pointless, but when I stop meditating I rebound to a dark and obsessive place filled with anxiety and unhappiness. Is there a happy medium and how do I get there?
Thank you for any response.

Might want to check out my Dark Night of the Soul thread and see if it applies.
