Sleeping Paralysis

After meditation, I usually get sleeping paralysis. I will fall asleep during meditation in my bed. I usually do it as I am falling asleep and just allow my self to drift into dream land.

I do not always do it, only when I am feeling particualrly stressed and when my neck hurts. When I do I wake or am at least conscious of my surroundings. I cannot move, nor speak. When I try to move it feels either like there is something preventing me, or my arms, legs, body in general is of a weight I cannot lift. I try to shout, but nothing can be heard. I can see everything, even my partner asleep next to me. Then I am released and can move freely.

I am pratical, but spritual in the sense of energies. I try to remain as positive as I can, but suffer from very deep, repetive negative thought during periods that I cannot really find a sequence for, just happens even if things are going great. I feel more than I think I should when around people. In general, I feel open but very unprotected. As a child, I saw a woman, sitting on my mum and step dads bed. She was very old, dressed in old fashined clothes, leaning on a walking stick with her right arm. As I stared she lifted her left arm and pointed at me. I ******* myself (Not literally) & Run. Something that remains with me is how grey she was. Skin, clothes, hand, everything was grey.

So in general, things are pretty freaky for me, but wondered if anyone else had the sleeping thing coz that is really freaking me out.

Sleep paralysis is the state where your astral body is slightly out of synch with your physical body.

It is the perfect state to astral project and have an out of body experience from, just imagine and think of floating up, think of yourself levitating, and flying out of your house!

It is the state many of us who practice astral projection seek to get into, and there is nothing dangerous about it. It happens normally right after or before an astral projection, whether it was consciously or not, and can happen during meditation when your astral body starts to gently float out of your physical body.

sleep paralysis is completely normal. It is a normal healthy sleep stage, like REM stage.

Ohh, glad it's pretty normal. I get it too often and become terrified that I can't move.

dave... Sleep paralysis is not a goal but a side effect of going out of body. Some people never get it... I don't.

Instead choose an aim for what you want to do or where you want to go out of body, and when you get your specific signs of separating from the physical just go ahead.

Of if you're aim is to go deeper in meditation, just do that.
