Good for you. Sometimes a relationship is for a reason and then it's time to move on.
For the record when I took anti-depressants it made everything much worse and I was suidical. Not really, but I felt that way. I tried everything and I can't take them. I was much better when I went off of them. People are different and some people do respond well but others don't.
Depression is a spiritual problem. The solution is spiritual growth. The drugs hinder that, but they can be a stepping stone or even necessary for some people.
If you are a witch then you know how to work with energy to fix the problems and it seems as if you did. Good job!!!
