The Moment of Death

Hi, I am wondering ig anyone has any thoughts on what the moment of death feels like? I suppose my view is, that it is different for people as we all die in different ways. I ask, as my Grandmother passed away 2 weeks ago, she was in pain and seemed to make her own decision to go (refusing all food and water and medication).

I am a bereavement counsellor so have much experience of working with bereaved clients but they very rarely speak of the moment of passing. Now I write all this I am unsure of why I am writing it, as I believe in an afterlife (Spirituality) but this has come up for me so would appreciate and learn from additional views.
Thanks, Purple Mist XXXXXXXXXXXX

I don't honestly know.
It's possible someone who has been resuscitated after "clinical" death may be able to say what it feels like.

I imagine it's possible (if conscious at the time) that it might feel rather like an out of body experience, at least at first. But that's just a surmise. I know what it feels like to go out of body, but don't know (or at least remember) what it feels like to die. However when actual physical death comes into the equation, it could make things feel slightly different to a normal out of body experience.

I'd say anyone who's had a genuine NDE could, and has described it.

As most technically died, yet were sent back after having a Near Death Experience.

There's quite a lot in books of those who've collected experiences.

This is one of the better films on the subject , and includes a few personal experiences

Purple Mist... Reading true NDE stories can be very helpful for questions about what happens after death.

There are many you could explore at http://nderf.org

Death doesnt hurt. Theres no indication that you have died in flesh. Its a seamless transition. There is no physical pain but some suffer mentally until they can cross over.

I can only speak of my own experiences as others are personal to the individual.i passed in one past life through a bullet that entered my head from behind my ear.i still have the scar to prove it,i was Native american and the white men thought they would take the land that didnt belong to them,we fought back and i was shot,i know this life i will pass with a heart attack in my sleep, so i wont feel anything, i have been with ppl as they are about to cross over and some are grateful because they want the pain to stop and other just close their eyes and go that way.
my dad had heart problems and he came home from being in town and dropped down with his heart .the look on his face was one of relief that it was over.

It probably feels a bit like the awake/dream transition.
