Hey all,

Hope everyone is well.

I’ve joined this forum after 2 relatively inexplicable ‘experiences’ in recent years.

I am a thirty five and have never really experienced death until last October when my Grandmother (and my best friend) died after a short battle
with brain cancer. I have struggled tremendously to accept her passing to the point that I attempted suicide. I did this by taking an overdose and on the medication starting to make me fall into unconsciousness, I smelled my Grandmother’s scent as if she was next to me. It was so vivid and real that it made me realise what I was doing and call an ambulance. Whilst I do not know if it was an olfactory hallucination or she was here, it stopped me from dying.

Also around a year ago, I was sat alone when I saw a light (more like a spark) materialise in front of me. It was a brief spark followed by a smaller one. This occurred in milliseconds but was very real. I found it strange and kind of disregarded it until I received a telephone call a few minutes later to say our family dog had just died in an accident.

I have never really ‘believed’ in ghosts, the supernatural etc but on both occasions I have experienced something unexplainable. I would like to be able to make sense of them, especially the most recent occurrence with my Grandma.

I am new too

I too share your pain as I have recently lost my grandmother. I do believe she saved you that day and wants you to live your life. They both want you to go on.

I understand the pain of grief is incredible, but you will emerge from it and I’m sure they’re watching over you now and in the future.
