Lobsters and crabs DO feel pain...

A scientific study has proven that lobsters and crabs DO feel pain. Something which has great moral implications for the food industry and those who eat lobster and crab...

I also am not surprised by this discovery.
Also I question the thing about Oysters not feeling pain (?) Some people think they don't!
Of course they do! Otherwise why would an Oyster develop a pearl to protect itself against the irritation of a grain of sand underneath its shell?

One would have to have a heart made of stone to think they don't feel pain.
Now that it has been officially proven that they do feel pain, that opens the possibility of the RSPCA and American counterparts prosecuting companies/restaurants that still boil alive - as many do...A test case.
I feel it needs to be done to make the point.

I had a friend once who had just received an inheritance. He went round from one posh restaurant to the other, buying up all the live lobsters and crabs, displayed in the tanks in the dining areas (for diners to choose the exact lobster/crab they wanted...to be boiled alive especially for them)
Well, he got all these, and took them to the sea, and let them go.
Poor things, I have no doubt they would be caught again...but what this guy did was beautiful. Bless him. He has passed on now.

That's a lovely story. What a beautiful thing to do.

You hear so many bad stories about humankind, but something like this reminds you that there are some wonderful people about. Respect to him.
