Astrological Roll Call

Hello! Welcome and thanks for peeking in, even if you're not planning on staying. I just wanted to create a new thread in this section of the forum because Astrology is a subject that is dear to me and it's gotten a bit dusty here lol (stardusty )

I want to see how many people here are sincerely interested in Astrology, partially to determine how much it is worth the effort of trying to start other new threads and conversations here. I know there are other popular forums online to discuss Astrology, but I always liked the calmer ambiance of this area here. So if it's possible to salvage it at the moment and others are interested let's give it a try.

If you want, post that you are Present here for the Roll Call, and share anything else you feel like. Maybe include a few of your placements and how you feel they make you who you are, or mention ones you are curious to understand more about and one of us here might be inspired to comment what we think about that placement or combination of them.

My name is Karen and I am a Libra Sun sign with a Pisces Ascendant, and my Moon in Scorpio along with my Venus, Saturn, Pluto and South Node also being there.
I have a lot of fire with Sagittarius Mars, Uranus, Neptune and Midheaven, and then my Mercury and Jupiter are in earthy Virgo and Capricorn which probably help even me out a bit and make me more practical than I would ordinarily be. I do feel very passionate and creative with a love for art, nature, and beautiful things in general.. I am a deep thinker and probably use too much of my mind power psychologically but a lot goes into tedious exasperating detail too thanks to Mercury Virgo in its native 6th house. I guess these could be good things, but currently I waste a lot of my mental energy and power I think.

Funny I had some videos playing on youtube on autoplay and after I said that about my mental energy, an excerpt from the video said if we stop spending so much time judging our thoughts, we'll have a lot more room for positive thoughts. That is so true and cool to think about instead of constantly nitpicking ourselves, which hopefully you don't do but I do too much..

The interesting thing is I didn't even really hear what the guy was saying in the background until that part came up which is 4 minutes into the video justt in case anyone else is meant to hear this video too

Sorry that link is not about Astrology, but there will be time to share awesome links about Astrology here later if anyone wants to play with me in this section of the forum

I am a member of ISAR {International Society of Astrological Research}. I've been interested in the subject beginning in early youth. My plans are to publish my research data sometime down the road. The current project involves the inferior Mercury - Sun conjunction and has been on going for several years.

Natal sun in Capricorn, Rising sign Libra, and my moon is in Aquarius.

Here and now accounted for.

Hello.

In a nutshell, Capricorn Sun, Cancer moon, Pisces rising.

Just a small fraction of my chart, I am dominated by earth and water elements, minus my Mercury in Sagittarius & Aquarius in Venus.

If I could describe by overall combination here, I would call it fluid; Always moving, always transforming.

Anyone have any questions about my chart or these specific traits, don't hesitate to ask!

So much in Scorpio - not the easiest of signs.

Capricorn ascendant, Pisces Sun and Leo Moon.

And a couple of grand trines: Sun-Moon-Jupiter and Saturn-Venus-Pluto.

I have a general interest in astrology, particularly esoteric astrology, although little experience in actual interpretation of a chart.

Peace.

I'm so glad to see you all here, thanks for coming and sharing!

Aunt Bud aww that's awesome about your research! If you want to share any of it feel free, though I understand if not. but when you say Inferior does it mean the literal definition like 'not as good' or is it some kind of Astrological term with a more complex definition? and does the orb have to be pretty tight?
I would have assumed that people with that placement have harmony with their will, true self, and thoughts or mind patterns and tendencies. I could see how things could get muddled up with that conjunction too though.
Mine are about 11 degrees apart so that is too wide of an orb to be considered conjunct for that aspect, right?
Are there other areas of research that you've spent time on or find appealing?

How would you say a Libra Ascendant differs from having a Libra Sun or other Libra placement, and what similarities do you think it has?

Clover ah yes I can see the fluidity of those placements, Sagittarius Mercury is one I could use more insight about because I have a daughter now (almost 15 months) who has that placement, and my sister who was actually born the same day does too. So the Capricorn Sun really helps you to have solid ground to honor the other more flowy aspects of your chart and use those energies more wisely? Capricorn is one of the signs I don't know enough about, and I have it in a sort of prominent place in my chart even though it's in Jupiter and not a person planet, it conjuncts my Midheaven, rules my Pisces Ascendant also squaring it and my Sun and so on lol.. and it being in the 10th house means it may be integral to my eventual success so I guess I need to get to know it and how to use it asap. oh anything you want to share about any of your placements is welcome, but I am also especially interested in your Cancer Moon as my fiance has that placement, and of course your Pisces Ascendant because I have that same as you

iamthat hi more Capricorn and Pisces influence, cool. I've heard the Pisces Sun is a very sensitive placement, so I am guessing that the Capricorn Ascendant helps chill that out a bit? What about the Leo Moon? I have not known many Leo Moons, but one of my favorite online friends I met in a game had that and she was just so funny and delightful lol. That is cool about the grand trines. What's your experience with them been like?
how would you define esoteric Astrology?

Im an Aqua sun, scorpio ascendant, my moon is in taurus, Venus is in pisces, mars in Sagittarius, Jupiter in Aquarius. My part of fortune is in leo.

I'm really interested in interpreting transits and wish more people would post about their personal transits! This is what I have been mostly interested in as of late.

Hello Karen. The mercury project is ongoing and requires more time.
I created an antiscia chart involving sag and cap degrees during November through Janruary. My professional background has involved process research in the past.
The Libra ? I would have to think about. Richard Nixon had the same three placements.

Good evening all,
My name is Tony, Sun Scorpio, Cancer Asc, Pisces Moon, Mercury conjunct Neptune (in Scorpio) & exact trine Saturn. I began my astrology way back in 1984. For a while in my mid 20's worked at it professionally. Self-taught with a definite independent streak; I have tried lots of tangents in astrology and where something works (for me) I stick with it, where it doesn't, I don't. So Placidus all the way, equal house no. Secondary progressions yes, solar returns no. I have found over the years that 'reality is plastic' and thus sometimes I see some things work very well but at other times I can't get them to move at all. I specialise in prediction and have had some extraordinary circumstances in this field. Too many examples; eventually I realised that (in this field) it is a tool to be used at a given time for a given issue, yet at other times it just doesn't work - because you may or may not be part of the karmic circumstances involved at the time.
Breaking the traditional rules - I regularly use progressions and transits together and get results; tradition teaches these are two wholly different systems - so most folks wouldn't think of combining the angles of both. I did years ago and I found definite connections reflecting the times of outer & inner events. A common example being transit Mars conjunct or square Progressed Moon - at a moment of impulsive action, often manifesting as an accident.
I've done a bit of rectification work too; frequently to define the actual birth time rather than just accepting the given time as correct.
I'm also very interested in speculation too - using the chart and transits to select the 'moment' a ticket or card is bought. Interesting results..

My Leo Moon is in the seventh house, so for me it has represented an area of challenge, learning to affirm myself in relationships of all sorts, beginning with my family.

In many ways my life has been quite comfortable. There have definitely been difficulties due to other influences, but overall I consider myself to be very fortunate, for which I am grateful, and this may be due to the grand trines.

As a generalisation I would say that traditional astrology concerns the influences on the personality whereas esoteric astrology concerns the journey of the Soul's evolution. The esoteric astrologer considering a person's chart needs an intuitive understanding of where that individual might stand on the spiritual path.

So off the top of my head we can consider the zodiac as follows:

Aries - the descent of the Soul into the mental plane, the beginning of the journey into form.
Taurus - the descent of the Soul into the astral plane, the plane of desire.
Gemini -the descent of the Soul into the physical plane. The twin aspects of Gemini relate to the etheric physical (the energy body) and the dense physical.
Cancer - the Soul is immersed in mass consciousness.
Leo - the Soul rises out of mass consciousness and affirms its identity.
Virgo - the birth of the Christ consciousness within.
Libra - the point of balance between the journey of descent (which began in the opposite sign of Aries) and the journey of return.
Scorpio - the sign of spiritual discipleship. The desire of the opposite sign Taurus is transmuted to spiritual aspiration.
Sagittarius - rising above the lower nature. The centaur becomes the archer sitting on the horse, thus indicating that the human now controls the animal nature. The duality of the opposite sign Gemini now becomes the duality of the higher and lower self.
Capricorn - the sign of initiation and achievement. The mass consciousness of the opposite sign Cancer now becomes the higher consciousness of the individual.
Aquarius - the development of group consciousness. The individual identity of the opposite sign Leo has now become group identity.
Pisces - the expression of Christ consciousness, which was born in the opposite sign of Virgo.

In esoteric astrology the ruling planets for each sign differ depending on where the individual stands spiritually. So Pisces is usually considered to be ruled by Neptune, the planet of mysticism, but in esoteric astrology the higher ruler of Pisces is Pluto, symbolising death and transformation. And Pluto is a first ray planet which indicates will and ultimately sacrifice, which seems to fit in with the expression of Christ consciousness.

And for those with an interest in Theosophical teachings on the planes and the rays, esoteric astrology assigns a sign and planet which govern each plane. All of which adds a whole new dimension to esoteric study.

My guide for esoteric astrology has been Esoteric Astrology by Alice Bailey. I struggled for years to understand all the information but gradually it began making sense.

Peace.

Sun in Cancer, Moon in Sagittarius, Ascendant in Taurus

My planets are mainly fire and air signs. My moon sign seems to have the greatest influence on the direction of my life.
