Is there a malevolent force or entity in your beliefs?

Is there a malevolent force or entity in your beliefs and if so what is its name and story?

In my own beliefs my goddesses come from ancient semitic/canaanite polytheism. Jehovah also know as El or Yahweh was once a chief among the other Divines but he grew jealous and power hungry and sought to become the only one who was worshiped, Jehovah instigated violence against those who did not submit solely to him. He is a Demon-god of Envy and he hates people who don't adhere to his rules, traditions, and religion. Jehovah is responsible for many heinous acts against Pagans, Heathens, and Witches as well as heinous acts against members of the LGBT community. To me in my beliefs he is akin to the devil.

No. None is needed. People are plenty stupid to be their own worst enemy.

We spend too much time searching for evil in life that we miss all that is good.

No, there is no such enities.

As for Jehovah....... i do not think he has ever done anything to the groups you mentioned, at least in the last 2000 years in which we would have records of such doings. As for me, I can not find any such records.

Are you sure you got the correct God?

Of course, you are free to believe whatever you want, but all the above is irrelevant to me.

Peace

If you're going to understand this you need to go back to Sumer, which is where religion in that area came from, and Genesis is essentially a re-write of the Gilgamesh epic. Yahweh is said to be a translation of Enlil's title, while Satan comes from Enki's title of Satam. The bi-polar god of the Old Testament is Enlil vs Enki. An 'El' is a Shining One, and according to Graham Hancock there are some 495 cultures across time and history that tell of the very same Shining Ones.

The power-hungry and vengeful God is a construct of the Romans, specifically the Council of Nycea, as Constantine turned religion into a control mechanism. Jehovah isn't responsible for anything, the Romans started it and as far as heinous acts against Pagans, the LGBT community and the rest are concerned, they were perpetuated by people and not Jehovah - although they were probably committed in his name.

People created God/the gods, the vengeful entities, the malevolent forces, the 'evil'......

I'd say not searching but seeing. I would agree.
