Some thoughts about the causes of health and illness

There are things in the world which bring health and there are other things which bring illness, like the food one takes into the body every day. Among other things, bodily health depends on the quality of this food. The same applies to everything else. If we listen to bad music, for example, it is as though we accept something rotten in ourselves; the only difference from the "food" is that it's accepted not through the mouth, but through the ears. If we look at/watch an ugly picture, movie etc., then the same thing happens. All these negativities bring illness. It is just a matter of time for the result (illness) to appear. This is why it's important to always search for the beautiful and positive in life. Illness and ugliness go hand in hand, there is no such thing as a beautiful illness .

It has been known for generations that thinking negative has a detremont affect on us thinking positive being the reverse.for a person who finds it difficult to cry stores it in the body and that causes pain, only tears release it,

Another way of saying the same thing is LOA (law of attraction), i.e. what we focus on we get more of.

No need to be confused Native spirit . I probably should have explained my post more.
It is not about positive/negative thinking. You are right it's well known that positive and negative thinking makes a difference on health. But, much less attention is paid to what actually makes us think positive or negative: what we take in. This has to do with willing, with actions. I think it was Plato who said (I can't remember the words exactly) that the food we take in we can vomit, but what we read we can't throw away. Same applies here: what we take into ourselves (I mean this in a very broad sense) causes health or illness, regardless whether we are conscious or not. This also applies for beliefs we accept. So, it's not just thinking, negative thoughts, holding in sadness etc. I wanted to share this, and see what others would say also.

Amy, I can't see what LOA has to do with what I wrote. It's definitely not saying the same thing. Can you shed more light on this?

What we choose to focus on/preoccupy ourselves with affects us mentally and emotionally hence impacting on our health. As you said, watching certain negative films (constantly, e.g. aggressive or seedy/debasing ones) will colour our perception/outlook on life. Our thoughts can have physiological repercussions as in psychosomatic illnesses.

There is a lot to be said for the power of positive thinking and, indeed, it is incorporated in successfully treating those suffering from depression ( with CBT - cognitive behavioural therapy).

It depends on your outlook are you an optimisst or a pessimist are you a glass half empty or a glass half full type of person, it depends on how you were raised were you given encouragement or did you not.if you were then you are more likely to look more positivly at things.
all things are possibly as long as you stay true to yourself.follow your instincts,i was not given encouragement by my parents but my own determination and believing in my instincts got me to where i am today.i can be both in different circumstanses at different times, depending on what im facing.

Every thing is made up of energy. energy is non physical. the non physical energy manifests into the physical. things that have positive energy will heal and things that have negative energy will harm.
words, thoughts, actions, beliefs, food etc is all made up of energy and used in the right way can have a very positive uplifting effect, used in the wrong way can have the opposite effect.
