Memories as Ryn of Aos

Another past life that I have a handful of memories fromis as a shapeshifter named Ryn, and a prince of a land called Aos. Back then, grandfathers were Ahkra and Arc. Ahkra was the Incarnation of Darkness--essentially a force of nature/deity ruling over sleep, death, dreams, the night, etc. My father had the same black raven's wings as Ahkra, and long black hair.

As a young shapeshifter, I was still learning and only had a small handful of forms I could shift to easily. My default form was human in appearance, except for feathered wings. Mine were smaller than my father's or grandfather's, and blue, instead of black. I looked different; I had long tawny blond hair and green eyes, but my family loved me all the same. I was fond of taking the form of a jackal as well, or the form of a bluebird.

I found an unusual-looking sword in the forest near the castle I called home and brought it back. I didn't know at the time that it was the cursed Sword of Nyl, and that sealed inside of it was an angry forest spirit (Faeruun) who had tried to protect the woods he looked after. Faeruun and I bonded unexpectedly, despite the fact that the sword had killed many of the previous owners. To be fair, the previous owners were the ones who sealed Faeruun away after hunting and logging his forest mercilessly, and then sought to abuse his power. I was simply more curious than anything.

Things took a bad turn though. My grandfather Ahkra and his twin Omin were tangled in a terrible feud. Omin lashed out against anyone close to Ahkra, I guess to try to hurt him. When I was home alone, Omin came to the castle. I tried to escape, but couldn't. He did terrible, unspeakable things. My father found me pinned to a tree with the Sword of Nyl plunged through my stomach. It wasn't Faeruun's fault. I'd tried to defend myself with the sword, but was no match for Omin. I remember my father carrying me. I faded in and out. I remember the cool sensation of water as I was submersed, I think in a nearby lake, and my wounds healed. I recovered from the verge of death, but I was never the same again. The trauma haunted me long after. I was broken.

I still see Faeruun to this day. He likes to take the form of a silver fox, and although he is scarce, he checks in and makes himself known from time to time. Arc and Ahkra visit, mostly in dreams. I would love to find anyone that this sounds familiar to, though--especially my father, older brother, or sister. I am not looking for Omin. Feel free to message me about any of this!

It could maybe be something that happened in an Astral world? Or at least in another dimension, or even different universe or planet?

The imagery is fascinating, and the importance will be how much that means to you in your mind and Heart, and how is that relevant to your life purpose here on this planet right now? How can you use that awareness or "experience" to understand more deeply what is going on within you?

It does sound like a brilliant subject for a fantasy novel. Could you maybe write that novel? You do obviously, have some writing skill.

I've always felt that sci-fi novels are nothing more than adaptations of a reality on another plane of existence.

In my opinion, if the imagination can conjure it up, it exists somewhere. Maybe not the story line but the world exists.

It was definitely a different world of some kind, not sure if that involves another dimension/planet/or what, but the land itself and the names of the places were very different as well. I do enjoy writing, although it is hard to find the time... but I hope some day to try to write it all together. I've thought that maybe if I do, it'll give me more perspective on everything and offer new insights, too.

I feel the same way, too, linen53.
