Memories from nowhere

I have this happen quite a few times. often leaves me unsettled and questioning.

For example a couple days ago I was driving and I glanced over to a picket fence with flowers growing next to it. It's like a flashback really, as it comes quickly like a slap, but I am mostly just left with a 'feeling' and the image, but nothing to do with it. I mean I can't find meaning to it, I can't place a real memory to it that I can recall more. I don't even understand it. And quite often most center around flowers such as hollyhocks. Sometimes a house or houses will come to mind, but they are so very old houses and i don't feel like they are even in my time now. Well, it happened again and I was left feeling ever so melancholy. the flowers made me feel comforted, but there was this awful forelorned sense I felt and i wanted to weep.

I have others as well but I cannot connect them to anything from this life, unless it's a buried memory, but yet I don't feel that is the case. Do you think this could be a dim past life recollection, or imprint? Have you experienced this or similar? I know to this day I have an affinity with hollyhocks and have planted them at one time all over my yard and house to feel 'safe' and 'back in the old days' and I would laugh about it.

I haven't had any experiences that I can recall. But my friend said one time she was on a boat and then she got a feeling that she had lived before in a time without electricity or modern technology.

The best I've ever described it is deja vu. I've yet to feel a "memory" but it's not a memory be upsetting. It's like a fast flash. Not even a flash. For me It's more of a feeling when I see something. Like an inner "Ooooohhhm....I know this, I experienced this, but it is unimportant" All in less than maybe 2 seconds, a moment. I can look on the moment but it's a very fleeting feeling for me when it does happen. That's for me the best way I can describe it with how it makes me feel. Its like I'm going past an imprinted deep memory in a sense from long ago, and the past is just giving me a quick wave.

I'm starting to get images within the last several days. I just had one tonight and it makes me want to weep too. I'm just doing my normal routines and an image will pop in my head. I just saw a male warrior with a beard in an armour carring a nasty staff weapon with some type of cutter attached to the top of it.

Glad I'm not the only one!

I get images of this dark-haired man dressed in what it seems to me late 18th century clothes. He's sitting on the grass, I think we're on a picnic. He's laughing full-heartedly but I have a heavy, dark feeling in my heart and can't join in his laughter although I wanted to. Maybe I've watched too many Jane Austen films, I don't know. There are also other flashes of that man that come to me spontanuesly like memories or something and most often they are bittersweet.

But the thing that made me come into this forum was something even more strange. Last weekend I was finding my way almost without a map in a foreign city I briefly visited 10 years ago. Like my heart just knew where to go, with rapid dejavu's and a voice in my head saying "turn left" etc. Still can't explain it.
